Nissan Leaf
The new Nissan LEAF looks slick, with a face that's characterized by a short nose and large headlights. The car is compact. The sleek styling results in a low coefficient of drag.
The Nissan LEAF's electric motor was developed in-house and delivers 80kW of power and 206 lb.-ft. of torque that result in excellent acceleration, especially from a standstill. The 24kWh laminated compact lithium-ion battery pack is located under the vehicle floor for packaging, without compromising cabin or cargo space. Regenerative brakes recharge the battery during deceleration and braking, which helps contribute to the Nissan LEAF's driving range of more than 100 miles on a full charge.

The New Nissan Murano

Spun from the Altima/Quest platform, all versions of this well-appointed five-place hauler match Nissan's potent 245-horse V-6 with a CVT automatic transmition, and handles confidently. Options include leather, rear-seat DVD, and stability/traction control. The 2011 Nissan Murano will retain styling that arrived with the 2009 redesign, itself an evolution of the 2003-2007 Murano's bullet shape This crossover is an artsy compilation of curves and plains; highlights include a randy kink in the rear roof pillar and a buffed-biceps haunch to the body sides.

Nissan Juke
Come this fall, Nissan will add the Versa-based Juke compact crossover to its lineup. Previewed in Paris and having made its in-the-metal debut at the Geneva auto show, the Juke is quite flavorful in the styling department. It evokes both the lumpy Nissan Leaf and the heinous Pontiac Aztek while managing to look better than both. We're not so sure about the busy front fascia and the lighting elements on the tops of the front fenders, but we do like the ready-to-pounce stance, muscular fender arches, and swoopy taillamps. More subtle but also as cool are the cantilevered roof and angular A-pillars borrowed from the GT-R and 370Z.
